Presentation of 2024 Grants Distributed

Alan Anderson

Did you know that the Parrish Foundation, a local community nonprofit, is based right here in Parrish?

Founded in 2009, the Parrish Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the residents of the Parrish community. Our mission is to support local citizens, businesses, and nonprofit organizations, while preserving the culture and heritage of Parrish. We aim to meet the emerging needs of the community by providing sustainable assistance and philanthropic grants.

Since its inception, the Parrish Foundation has played a key role in supporting the Parrish (North River) area. Our first major initiative was the creation and management of the Parrish Chili Cook-Off, which became a beloved annual event. Where we raised over $250,000 in grants for small, local nonprofits over 13 consecutive years (with one year off during the COVID-19 pandemic). The Parrish Chili Cook-off is still a wonderful event, now managed by the Parrish Civic Association.

The Parrish Foundation's grant program continues to thrive, awarding an additional $40,000 in grants to support community needs. For more information on the annual grant application process and deadlines, visit our website at www.parrishfoundation.com.

In addition to our grants, the Foundation now offers an annual scholarship in honor of one of our founding board members, Rebecca "Cookie" Jordan. The Rebecca "Cookie" Jordan Scholarship will be awarded to a student residing in the 34219 zip code, attending a school within the Parrish community. Please visit our website for details on how to apply and key deadlines.

The Parrish Foundation’s Board of Directors remains steadfast in its commitment to our mission, and we are dedicated to continuing our support for the citizens of Parrish.
